Southern Company selects ATI's Aware product for managing High Energy Piping Assessments

SAN JOSE, CA - 6/30/2006 - Automation Technology, Inc. (ATI), a supplier of Collaborative Asset Management solutions for the energy industries, is pleased to announce that Southern Compay (SO)  has acquired ATI's AWARE product for managing all of the assessment findings and recommendations for their High Energy Piping across their fleet.  This includes 90 units at 27 facilities.

This move was driven by a need to improve documentation and management of knowledge pertaining to the condition of their steam lines, and easily utilize that knowledge to plan for future outages. This enables Southern Company the ability to centralize knowledge pertaining to steam line conditions, and enables engineers to analyze trends. Using the visual capabilities of the Aware software, welds or piping sections that need attention are highlighted on drawings, enabling users to quickly identify the scope of work for upcoming outages.  Reporting is streamlined and standardized from one central location as well.
